Autumn is a beautiful time of the year and the children at Longfield Academy have been learning all about it! They have been busy collecting fallen leaves in the garden and turning them into exciting art. Another thing that falls from the trees at this time of year is apples and it's a great time to try some new snack and recipe ideas with your little ones. Here are some ideas we hope you enjoy!

As part of our healthy eating program we decided to try our children with some more exotic fruits to help develop their taste buds and help out Mum and Dad with some new ideas.... 
The children loved some of the more exotic fruits like pomegranate, mango and pineapple put weren't too sure of plums. They all made a wonderful attempt at trying everything and received a certificate for participation. Hopefully this will encourage them to try new foods at home too. 

The children and staff of Longfield Academy turned out in style today to celebrate Tipperary in the All Ireland Hurling Final on Sunday. We had a great day of fun and games and Ciara even baked us a cake... Yum !
