About Our Senior Toddler Room
For some, your child will be transitioning from our Junior Toddler Room, for others this is your child’s first time with us! We have a transition period for either situation. For our new friends, we will initially invite you and your child in to meet the team in the Senior Toddler Room and to discuss any questions you may have. We will then organise for your child to
begin their settling in period which is usually over a period of two weeks and is always at a pace that best suits your child to ensure that they settle with ease.
For children transitioning from Junior Toddler's, they will be gradually moved from the Junior Toddler Room to the Senior Toddler Room to ensure a smooth transition for the child and to enable the child to start building a relationship with the early years practitioners in the Senior Toddler Room. When your child is due to move to the Senior Toddler Room, you will be invited in to the creche to meet the team in the Senior Toddler Room, visit the room and ask any questions that you may have.
Our highly experienced team supports each child to develop a happy disposition, positive self-esteem and an engaged attitude to learning and socialising within a safe and nurturing environment.

The Routine also allows for flexibility to meet the needs of each individual child needs. The children engage in large group time, small group time, choice play, outdoor play and creative activities, encouraging their natural curiosity and imagination.
Curriculum
The curriculum is play based and promotes Aistear’s themes of Exploring & Thinking, Identity & Belonging, Well-being and Communicating. These themes incorporate all of your child’s developmental needs. We aim to promote a fun and playful environment, where the children learning is based on their emerging interests. The environment is designed to facilitate motor skill development as well as social skills through center structured play. It is at this age that your child begins to enjoy interacting with other children. Sharing, taking turns and caring for each other is all part of senior toddlers.
